A 20-year-old man is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday night at the intersection of Blue Course Drive and Westerly Parkway, according to Ferguson Township police.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Rashid Alnuwaymi was stopped on a motorcycle in the middle of the northbound travel lane along the 1200 block of Blue Course Drive at about 8:45 p.m. when a Hyundai Elantra struck him from behind, police wrote in a news release on Monday.
Alnuwaymi was flown by helicopter to UPMC Williamsport, where he died from injures sustained in the collision.
According to the Penn State directory, Alnuwaymi was an undergraduate student at the university.
The incident remains under investigation by township police and the Centre County Crash Reconstruction Team. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-800-479-0050 or police@twp.ferguson.pa.us.
Centre Lifelink EMS, Alpha Fire Department and State College police assisted at the scene on Friday night.
